career centers
the journey of a pearl
one step at a time
A girl doesn't arrive finished. She's welcomed, then walked through each stage at her own pace.
Pearl House Haven
Girls arrive at Pearl House through rescue initiatives of other non-profits and social welfare intervention. Upon arrival, girls are seen by our licensed Social Workers and top-tier counselors. Here they begin counseling, leveling classes for to reach grade level, and begin their journey of Healing.
Pearl House Residential Care
Once a girl transitions out of the Haven, they enter our Residential Care cottages and attend Pearl House Academy. Each cottage has one house mom that oversees the care of the girls, so they can establish a normal routine with safe and steady care.
Pearl House Academy
PHA offers classes for preschool through 9th grade to the Pearls and the community, both boys and girls, with one class per grade and one teacher per class. as well as a library, science lab, art room, and computer lab.
Pearl College
Pearl House opened Pearl College in 2025, a senior high school that offers both academic and vocational classes to young women across Ghana.
University
Girls can pursue tertiary education through Technical school or University. Pearls in university live full time near their campus, make day-to-day and future decisions primarily on their own, can choose to work part-time jobs, and operate like a typical college student. However, Pearl House continues to take care of their accommodations, basic needs, and university expenses. Though they gain a lot of independence at this milestone, they are still considered Pearls and continue in our program.
Pearl House Career Centers
vocational training for women ages 16-21 in multiple regions of Ghana.
When we opened the first Pearl House Career Center in 2018, there were no vocational school programs in the region. With few options, young women often become pregnant and financially dependent on boyfriends or husbands.
At the Career Center, they’re given a different opportunity: to learn a trade and open a small business. Graduates of our two-year program can transform their futures and lift up their families and communities.
