Dreams are Coming True
Written by Courtney Quist-Therson
Just yesterday, a friend reminded me of an old song. The lyrics say
“He’s still working on me, to make me what I ought to be. It took him just a week to make the moon and stars, the sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient He must be, cause He’s still working on me”
It reminds me that our lives are constantly in process. We do not wake up one day and become perfect, it takes a lifetime for God to work on us and mold us into who He wants us to be. Oh how loving and patient He must be!
As I watch our school building become a reality one block at a time, I cannot help but think of the strong foundation that is being built in each of our students. Not only our 25 Pearls, but also the 8 students we now have from the community. Armed with a quality education and an understanding of God’s truth, there is no limit to the impact they will have on the nation of Ghana and hopefully, the world.
Believe it or not, construction on the school is in full force. The foundation of our 18 classroom school building is almost complete. The rainy season starts between March and May, so it has been our goal to get the foundation completed before the rains started. Due to the provision of funds, an ambitious contractor and the grace of God, we are ahead of our goal! Once the foundation is completed, the concrete floor will be poured and the walls of the first floor will start going up. We hope and pray that our additional classrooms will be available by the start of the school year in September.
